West Hills Homes for Sale

A Family community with many Parks!

West Hills, north of Woodland Hills, is a lesser known community which the residents think is just fine. From new construction communities to hillside and view estate homes to single family ranch homes or rustic homes there is something for everyone. West Hills abuts Woodland Hills just to the north with Victory Blvd as the boundary. West Hills was developed in the 1960’s and became a recognized community in 1987. It is flanked by open space and hills to the west and north. Within the community are numerous parks, many with organized recreation such as AYSO and Little League. The traffic and parking concerns of more densely populated areas are no issue for the West Hills residents.

West Hills includes homes in Valley Circle Estates, Monte Vista Estates, Castle Peak, Highlander, Platt, Box Canyon and the new construction communities of Sterling Ranch, Remington Place and Hampton at Northepointe.

West Hills is home to the West Hills Hospital and the nationally recognized Grossman Burn Center. The hospital also includes labor and delivery at The New Beginnings Maternal and Newborn Care Center

West Hills is a well-kept secret in the San Fernando Valley!

Things to Do in West Hills

Recreation

West Hills has a park for any activity you can imagine. Knapp Ranch Park has facilities for tennis, baseball and basketball plus playground equipment, picnic tables and grassy areas and finally a trailhead adjacent to the west. If that isn’t enough there are Lazy J, Shadow Ranch, Mae Boyer, Castle Peak, Taxco Trails, Chase, Bell Canyon and El Escorpion parks to keep you busy. After school and on weekends families converge on the West Hills Sports Center on Valley Circle for baseball and soccer.

West Hills homes regularly feature home orchards, especially citrus trees. Prior to development the San Fernando Valley was known for its commercial orchards because the warm mediterranean climate is just right. When it is harvest time you can find neighbors exchanging fruit by the bagfuls. If you need more space to garden Orcutt Ranch has a community garden, offers tours and is available for weddings & special events. They also have one U-Pick weekend annually.

To unwind stop by Malibu Wine & Beer Garden on Sherman Way across from the Hospital and Post Office. It is located in the former Hidden Chateau and Gardens which were the stables of the Francis Lederer Estate. The outdoor patio is lush and the wine and craft beers are refreshing. It is a favorite for get-togethers so get there early!
